Eric D. Berlin
Eric Berlin is an associate attorney focusing his practice on commercial litigation. He has vast experience in commercial litigation, transactional work, business formation and legal issues. Mr. Berlin also provides financial crisis management counseling to businesses and individuals. Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Mr. Berlin worked as an associate attorney and law clerk at a firm located in Bingham Farms, MI. During this time he represented individuals and businesses in commercial litigation, business transactional work, business formation and dissolution, corporate governance and compliance, commercial contracts, non-compete/trade secret claims, employment and wage matters, and financial crisis management. He also represented clients in state and federal court, arbitration and various administrative agencies of the State of Michigan.
Mr. Berlin earned his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law, graduating Cum Laude in 2013. While at Michigan State, Mr. Berlin was a competitor on the Moot Court & Trial Advocacy Board, a participant in the Trial Institute Certification Program, and president of the Jewish Legal Society. He also published The Israeli Supreme Court’s Targeted Killings Judgment: A Reaffirmation of the Rule of Law During War, 21 MICH. ST. INT’L L. REV. 517 (2013) for the Michigan State International Law Review where he served as a team leader and senior associate. During law school, he held positions as a law clerk and student lawyer. Before starting law school, he attended the University of Michigan and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History. He was a member of Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity and spent a semester studying abroad in Jerusalem, Israel at Hebrew University.
Mr. Berlin is very active in the legal community. He is a member of the State of Michigan Bar Association including the Young Lawyers and Business Law Sections, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the Jewish Bar Association of Michigan. He is also involved with the community as a member of NextGen Detroit and Therapy Dogs International.
