Associate attorney Andrew Dean focuses his litigation practice on business and insurance matters in New York and New Jersey involving general liability, product liability, toxic tort and asbestos, and insurance coverage litigation. He has extensive experience in all areas of file management, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motions and appeals, and attending depositions, motion hearings, court conferences, settlement conferences and trials. Mr. Dean has also handled numerous in extremis cases in the New York City Asbestos Litigation.
Prior to joining Segal McCambridge in 2014, Mr. Dean litigated business and insurance defense matters for a trial practice boutique based in Manhattan.
In addition to his passion for the practice of law, Mr. Dean enjoys travel and literature.

Won motion in the appellate court for permission to appeal to New York’s highest court in Labor Law dispute involving whether Industrial Code provision is specific enough to support Labor Law 241 (6) claim.
Co-Authored brief and will argue to New York’s highest court on same issue.
Won motion to dismiss asbestos matter for product manufacturer based upon lack of personal jurisdiction on first day of trial.
Won motion for summary judgment dismissing all claims against premises owner based upon the doctrine of trivial defect.
Second chaired a bench trial victory in multimillion dollar account-stated action in New York federal court.
Arger-Medina v Port Auth. of N.Y. & N.J., 57 Misc. 3d 902, 907, 61 N.Y.S.3d 863 (Sup. Bronx 2017) – Defeated plaintiff’s motion to strike defendant’s answer for failure to appear for discovery deposition and won immunity for client to refuse to answer questions on the grounds of self-incrimination.
Negotiated favorable settlements in asbestos litigation for asbestos insulation company involving major New York product production plant.
