Ben Thames is a trial attorney and managing shareholder of the St. Louis office of Segal McCambridge. A seasoned litigator with more than 14 years of legal experience, he focuses his practice on the defense of manufacturers, retailers, suppliers and premises owners, particularly in toxic/mass tort and environmental litigation. Mr. Thames also has extensive experience representing insurance companies in product and premise liability cases. His comprehensive knowledge helps clients manage complex litigation and take cases to a jury when necessary. He partners with clients who depend on his experience and efficient strategies to help them reduce potential liability. He has significant experience in managing the caseload of manufacturers in mass tort cases in all phases of litigation, including defense of claims, negotiations, and trial.
Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, he was a partner with a St. Louis litigation firm, where he managed and supervised a wide range of complex defense litigation cases involving toxic tort liability claims arising from environmental and occupational exposures. He has defended companies against claims involving alleged exposure to asbestos, benzene, chromium, diacetyl, coal dust and other industrial substances. He has also handled premises and products liability claims in all phases including defense of claims, negotiations and trial.
Mr. Thames is licensed to practice in Missouri, Illinois and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern District of Missouri and the Northern and Southern Districts of Illinois. He is also an active volunteer for the Legal Services of Eastern Missouri where he provides consultation and representation of citizens who need access to the court system, but would otherwise not be able to afford an attorney.
