Emily Sample is an associate attorney in the firm’s Chicago office. Focusing her practice in toxic tort, Ms. Sample has extensive experience writing memoranda, filing petitions and drafting presentations for hearings.
Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Ms. Sample worked as an associate at an intellectual property firm. She also served as a clinician at the University of Iowa Legal Clinic, in the General Civil and Domestic Violence Clinic Groups and as a liability management legal intern for the Arizona Attorney General's Office.
Ms. Sample earned her J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law, where she was the Midwest Regional Winner and National Quarterfinalist of the Giles Sutherland Rich Patent Moot Court Competition 2019, winner of Best Brief at the Midwest Regionals of the GSR Moot Court Competition for Appellant Brief, awarded the Boyd Service Award Highest Honors and received the Innovation, Business, and Law Excellence Award. She was also an editor of the Iowa Law Review, Transnational Law and Contemporary Problems note and comment editor, as well as a member of the Giles Sutherland Rich Patent Law Moot Court Team. She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical biosciences from the University of Oklahoma.
Outside of her work in the legal arena, Ms. Sample is interested in fantasy football, cross-stitching embroidery, baking and paddle boarding.
