Eric Berlin is an associate attorney focusing his practice on complex commercial litigation and related business matters, real estate law and litigation, defense of professional liability claims, and transportation/trucking matters and related litigation. Mr. Berlin has additional experience in corporate transactional work, business formation and legal issues, employment litigation and wage matters, and financial crisis management counseling to businesses and individuals. Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Mr. Berlin worked as an associate attorney at a boutique commercial litigation and business law firm located in Bingham Farms, MI. Mr. Berlin has represented clients in state and federal court litigation, arbitration, and at various administrative hearings in the State of Michigan.
Mr. Berlin earned his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law, cum laude, in 2013. While in law school, Mr. Berlin was a competitor on the Moot Court & Trial Advocacy Board and a participant in the Trial Practice Institute curriculum program. Mr. Berlin was also a Senior Associate on the Michigan State International Law Review and President of the Jewish Legal Society. During his time in law school, Mr. Berlin published The Israeli Supreme Court’s Targeted Killings Judgment: A Reaffirmation of the Rule of Law During War, 21 Mich. St. Int’l. L. Rev. 517 (2013). Mr. Berlin graduated from the University of Michigan in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History. While there, he spent a semester studying abroad in Jerusalem, Israel at Hebrew University.
Mr. Berlin is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan and in the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
Mr. Berlin is active in the legal community and is a member of the Young Lawyers and Business Law sections of the State Bar of Michigan. He is also a member of the Jewish Bar Association of Michigan. Additionally, Mr. Berlin is involved with the community through his participation with NextGen Detroit and Therapy Dogs International.
