Jake Kohut is an associate attorney focusing his practice on toxic tort litigation and complex commercial litigation matters. He has extensive experience in all stages of litigation, including drafting and filing motions and pleadings, conducting legal research, writing legal reports, and consulting with legal experts. Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Mr. Kohut worked in the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and Docket Manager. He has also worked as a law clerk for a litigation firm in St. Louis and interned for Rep. Susan Carlson at the Missouri House of Representatives in Jefferson City, Missouri.
In addition to earning a B.A. in both Political Science and Spanish, Mr. Kohut received a J.D. from the University of Missouri. During his time as an undergraduate, he was a member of the Alumni Outreach Campaign and the recipient of various academic honors and scholarships. While in law school, he placed 1st in the ABA Regional Competition and 2nd in the ABA National Arbitration Competition. Mr. Kohut was an active contributor to the Missouri Law Review, as well as the Associate Editor of the Missouri Environmental Law & Policy Review. Mr. Kohut also acted as the Mock Trial Director for the Board of Advocates.
