Jasmine Davis is an associate attorney in the firm’s Detroit office, where she focuses her practice on representing insurers in coverage litigation and providing coverage advice on a range of issues for both commercial and personal lines carriers. Aside from her trial litigation experience, Ms. Davis has extensive experience with transactional drafting, legal research, preparing and presenting oral arguments before the Michigan Court of Appeals, drafting appellate briefs and negotiating plea agreements.
Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Ms. Davis worked as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the appellate and district court divisions for the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office. She also served as a volunteer legal fellow for the American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan and as a summer associate for a Michigan litigation firm.
Ms. Davis earned her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where she was an articles editor and selections committee editor for the Michigan Journal of Gender and Law, a research assistant to Michigan Law professors and a volunteer student representative for the Admissions Office. Throughout law school she pursued opportunities to gain exposure to the practice of law through the completion of clinical coursework, including participating in Michigan Law's Veterans Legal Clinic, Child Welfare Appellate Clinic and International Transactions Clinic. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and political science from the University of Detroit Mercy, graduating summa cum laude.
Outside of her work in the legal arena, Ms. Davis is interested in composing poetry and literature, caring for her pet parrot, Henley, volunteer work and online scrapbooking.
