John W. Sechler is a senior associate attorney in the firm’s Detroit office. He focuses his practice on general litigation matters including negligence, insurance and trucking/transportation matters. Mr. Sechler has extensive experience in all stages of litigation including filing lawsuits, conducting discovery, case evaluation, preparing and arguing dispositive motions, negotiating settlements and serving as counsel for trial and appellate practice.
Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Mr. Sechler worked as an associate at a national insurance defense firm. He also served as an extern in the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office and as a clerk for the Macomb County Circuit Court and 45-A Judicial District Court.
Mr. Sechler earned his J.D. from the Thomas Cooley Law School, where he was on the Dean's List and earned top student honors in Alternative Dispute Resolution and Pretrial Skills. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Oakland University. He is admitted to practice in Michigan.
