Jungmin Lee is a trial attorney who focuses his practice on the litigation of toxic tort, product liability, and general litigation matters throughout the United States. He has experience in all aspects of pre-trial, trial, and post-trial work in federal and state courts and has second-chaired a product liability trial involving an international warehouse retailer. As a member of the National Coordinating Counsel (NCC) team, he develops and coordinates defense litigation strategies with local counsel and oversees matters in high-indemnity jurisdictions.
Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Mr. Lee served as a federal prosecutor in the Southern District of Illinois, where he worked in both the criminal and civil divisions of the U.S. Attorney’s Office. As a Special Assistant United States Attorney and member of the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force, he prosecuted numerous complex narcotics, conspiracy, money-laundering, firearms, counterfeiting and trafficking cases. In these roles, he successfully tried several cases to verdict in federal court and briefed and argued several appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Mr. Lee received the U.S. Attorney’s Award for Public Service in 2014.
Mr. Lee received his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he was the recipient of the Lincoln Scholarship. While attending law school, he served as a judicial extern to the Honorable James E. Shadid of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois. He received his A.B. in Government from Harvard University. He is fluent in Korean.
