Michael Aceto is an associate attorney in the firm's Philadelphia office concentrating his practice on toxic tort, product liability, construction negligence, environmental litigation, and commercial litigation. Mr. Aceto also represents clients regarding professional liability claims specific to architects and engineers. He has experience in all aspects of the litigation process from inception to disposition, including pleadings and discovery preparation, depositions, motion practice, case valuation and pretrial management. Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Mr. Aceto practiced at a mid-size law firm in Philadelphia. He also has experience outside of the law firm setting, having worked as a law clerk in the Torts Litigation Section of the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Edward Griffith.
Mr. Aceto received his J.D. from the Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware where he graduated with Pro Bono distinction. In addition to earning Certificates of Achievement, Mr. Aceto was inducted into the Order of the Barristers, a national honor society recognizing excellence in oral advocacy and brief writing. He was also a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and assumed a leadership role as Vice President & Dibona Fall Competition Chairman, in which he authored the competition problem. Prior to law school, Mr. Aceto graduated magna cum laude from New York University where he received his M.S. in Publishing and from which he received the NYU Merit Scholarship for Distinguished Academics. He received his B.A. in English with a Minor in Communications from Elon University in Elon, North Carolina. During his studies at Elon University, he achieved academic recognition having been on President's List and Dean's List multiple semesters. During his Fall Semester 2004, Mr. Aceto studied abroad in Perugia, Italy at The Umbra Institute.
