Sarah Fizel is an associate attorney in the firm’s Detroit office who focuses her practice on civil litigation matters. Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Ms. Fizel worked as an associate attorney in an insurance defense firm in Madison Heights. She has experience handling all aspects of first and third-party automobile negligence cases, transportation and trucking cases and is well-versed in the Michigan No-Fault Statute.
Ms. Fizel graduated from law school in 2016 from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School where she was an Honors Scholarship recipient. While in law school, she was on the Board of Editors of the Law Review, serving as both Solicitation Editor and Articles Editor, was the President of the Tax Law Society and served as Justice of the Phi Alpha Delta Soifer Chapter. She has earned two Certificate of Merits in Bankruptcy Law and Mediation. She has won numerous leadership achievement awards, including the Distinguished Student Award, Leadership Achievement Award, the State Bar of Michigan’s Taxation Section Student Award and the Dawn C. Beachnau Award for leadership and contribution as a member of the Law Review Board of Editors. While in law school, Ms. Fizel participated in the Oakland County Bar Association’s Inns of Court program, clerked for a Fortune 500 company, and externed with the Oakland Mediation Center.
Ms. Fizel has a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Michigan State University.
Outside of the legal arena, Ms. Fizel is a volunteer with Oakland County Parks and Recreation.
