Sarah R. Hertz is an associate attorney in Segal McCambridge’s Chicago office focusing her practice on asbestos and toxic tort related matters. Ms. Hertz is experienced in the various stages of litigation, including depositions, written discovery, and the drafting of mediation briefs, motions, pleadings, and pre-trial memoranda. She is skilled at negotiating settlements, and routinely communicates with clients regarding issues of coverage, liability, and damages. Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Ms. Hertz worked as an attorney at an insurance defense litigation firm in Chicago.
Ms. Hertz received her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law graduating magna cum laude. She holds certificates in both Advocacy and Child and Family Law, and received CALI Awards for the highest grade in Family Law and Advanced Writing for Legal Practice. While in law school, she held several positions as a law clerk, and also served as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Judge Raul Vega in the Circuit Court of Cook County. Before pursuing a career in law, Ms. Hertz graduated from The University of Wisconsin-Madison where she received a B.A. in political science and legal studies. She is currently admitted to practice in Illinois and the Northern District of Illinois.
Outside of work, Ms. Hertz enjoys volunteering in her local community, traveling, and running.
