
Shellie Washington is an associate attorney in the firm’s Chicago office. Focusing her practice in toxic tort, Ms. Washington has extensive experience preparing witnesses for trial, composing appellate briefs and researching and drafting memoranda.
Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Ms. Washington worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in the Civil Actions Bureau, specifically Child Support Enforcement Division and the Criminal Prosecution Bureau in the Appeals division and Misdemeanor division. She also served as a staff attorney for the Honorable Leroy Martin Jr., a presiding judge in the Criminal Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County.
Ms. Washington earned her J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she was a general editor of the University of Florida Journal of Law and Public Policy. She holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Florida A&M University.
Outside of her work in the legal arena, Ms. Washington is interested in reading, traveling and cooking. She also is an MLER tutor.
