Valerie R. Jackson is an associate attorney focusing her practice in insurance coverage and premises liability, particularly no-fault first- and third-party cases and uninsured and underinsured cases. Located in Segal McCambridge’s Detroit office, Ms. Jackson has extensive experience drafting pleadings, conducting research, analyzing legal issues, and performing large scale document review.
Ms. Jackson previously worked as an associate attorney at a mid-size law firm located in Bloomfield Hills, MI. While there, she drafted pleadings including complaints, answers, and motions in bankruptcy and civil cases, reviewed accommodation agreements, and researched and analyzed automotive-related legal issues.
Ms. Jackson received her J.D. from Wayne State University Law School where she graduated magna cum laude. While in law school, she was a Senior Note and Comment Editor for the Wayne Law Review, and was a member of the Moot Court. In addition to her extracurricular activities, she also worked as a law clerk and judicial intern.
Prior to attending Wayne State University, Ms. Jackson received her B.A. in Communication from Michigan State University with high honors. During this time, she spent a summer studying mass media in the United Kingdom.
Ms. Jackson has been licensed to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the State of Michigan since 2012.
