Veronica A. Bowen is an associate attorney, in the firm’s Chicago office, focusing her practice in toxic tort and intellectual property matters. Ms. Bowen has extensive experience working through various stages of litigation including drafting pleadings, briefs, dispositive motions, taking depositions, preparing for trial, preparing appeals and drafting discovery requests and responses. She also has significant experience in trademark and copyright prosecution and intellectual property licensing.
Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Ms. Bowen worked with major insurance companies as an associate at a litigation firm in New York, as a solo practitioner representing start-ups and artists in transactional matters, an associate for an entertainment law group, and as a legal extern for a major fashion company.
Ms. Bowen earned her J.D. from The University of Illinois Chicago John Marshall Law School, where she was an editor of the Review of Intellectual Property Law, a member of the Entertainment Law Moot Court Team and vice president and founding board member of the Fashion Law Society. She earned her LLM in Intellectual Property from The Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Currently, Ms. Bowen serves as a coach in the John Marshall Moot Court Program and is an active member of the Cook County Bar Association (CCBA). Outside of her work in the legal arena, Ms. Bowen is interested in opera, musical theater, and exploring as many countries as she can.
