William Kelly is an associate attorney focusing his practice on toxic tort and complex commercial litigation. He has extensive experience in all stages of litigation, including drafting briefs, responsive pleadings and pretrial motions, preparing for and conducting depositions of plaintiffs, experts and treating physicians, arguing motions in state and federal court, and providing early case resolution through mediation and arbitration.
Prior to joining Segal McCambridge, Mr. Kelly worked as an associate attorney at a litigation firm in Chicago defending corporations and general contractors against claims of product liability, construction liability, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death. Mr. Kelly earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he served as an associate editor of the University of Illinois Law Review. During law school, he worked as a law clerk for the Hon. Holly C. Clemons of the Illinois Sixth Judicial Circuit Court and was a finalist for the Paul Lisnek Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy.
Mr. Kelly holds a bachelor's degree in political science and sports administration from the University of Miami. He graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society. While earning his degree, he studied abroad at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic.
