Segal McCambridge Launches ‘TortsCenter’ Podcast Focusing on the Intersection of Sports, Recreation and Law, Published in Attorney at Law Magazine

In a feature published in Attorney at Law Magazine’s “Talk of the Town” section, it was announced that Carla Varriale-Barker, Shareholder and Chair of Segal McCambridge’s Sports, Recreation & Entertainment Practice Group, and Associate Courtney Dunn launched a new legal podcast called TortsCenter. On the podcast, Dunn and Varriale-Barker, who both work in Segal McCambridge’s New York offices, discuss the legal issues at the intersection of sports, recreation, and entertainment. Such issues include premises and spectator liability, sexual assault and abuse claims, and representing the specific needs of professional and amateur athletes.

“The benefit of our podcast is it provides our listeners with up-to-date and easy-to-access industry information, including risk prevention programs and protocols to mitigate risk,” said Dunn. “We look forward to growing this podcast and connecting with our audience.”

The first episode focuses on the intricacies of risk defense. In upcoming episodes, Varriale-Barker and Dunn will discuss the firm’s work in venue liability and advising clients on shifting regulations within the market.
