Two Segal McCambridge attorneys, shareholder Robert McLaughlin and associate Grace Kim, were quoted in an article that appeared in Chicago Lawyer on May 27, 2010. The article, "Statistics Show Firms Hiring Fewer New Associates," by Amanda Robert, gives an overview of the attorney employment situation in Chicago law firms in light of the nation's present-day economic circumstances.
Ms. Kim is quoted in her capacity as a first-year associate who appreciates the fact that not all of her contemporaries are so fortunate as to be gainfully employed in their chosen fields, saying "those of us who are blessed to have jobs, we're so thankful."
Mr. McLaughlin was intervied in his capacity as Chairman of the firm's Hiring Committee, offering insights on the recent growth of Segal McCambridge. "If you want your firm to continue to grow, you need associates to come up through the ranks, to make partner and to really be the future of the law firm," he says.
