Jason Eckerly to Speak on the Status of Asbestos Litigation at ABMA Summer Meeting in Florida

Segal McCambridge shareholder Jason P. Eckerly will speak at the upcoming American Boiler Manufacturers Association 2014 Summer Meeting on June 28 in Ponte Verda, Fla. Mr. Eckerly’s presentation is entitled “The Status of Asbestos Litigation: What has Been Learned Over the Years and How it is Being Applied Today.”

The American Boiler Manufacturers Association is a national nonprofit trade association of commercial, institutional, industrial and electricity-generating boiler system manufacturing companies dedicated to the advancement and growth of the boiler and combustion equipment industry.  The organization focuses on problem solving and communications for manufacturers, customers, government, and the public.

Mr. Eckerly is an experienced litigator and trial counsel whose practice focuses on the defense of toxic tort, asbestos and general liability litigation. He serves as national coordinating counsel, trial counsel and local counsel for several companies involved in asbestos litigation.  Mr. Eckerly is licensed in Michigan, Illinois and Pennsylvania and has been admitted to practice pro hac vice in numerous other states. He has acted as trial counsel in asbestos and non-asbestos trials in Michigan, Illinois, California, Pennsylvania and New York. He is active in several organizations including serving as editor of the American Bar Association’s Trial Practice Subcommittee and member of the ABA’s Mass Torts Committee and Toxic Torts Subcommittee. Numerous legal and industry groups have retained Mr. Eckerly to present on product liability, asbestos, and other matters. Mr. Eckerly has been named to the Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Stars list every year since 2009. He received his B.A. from Michigan State University and his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law.
