Segal McCambridge Elects Three New Shareholders and One Equity Shareholder to Partnership

Chicago, IL- Segal McCambridge Singer & Mahoney is pleased to announce the addition of three new shareholders and one new equity shareholder to its partnership. The 2015 elections represent the law firm’s expanding general civil and toxic tort offerings.

“The firm’s talent has grown tremendously this year. We’ve added 40 new attorneys to our ranks to bring our attorney count to 180, and these four individuals have grown their own practices and expanded their knowledge base to earn the respect of their peers.  Their promotions to partnership and equity partnership are well-deserved,” says Kathleen McDonough, managing shareholder of Segal McCambridge. “As our firm grows, we expect to identify additional leaders similar to Dwight Kern, Misty Martin, James Svajgl and Mitch Morinec.”

Dwight A. Kern from Segal McCambridge’s New Jersey office was elected to equity shareholder. Mr. Kern represents numerous local and national clients, both directly and through insurance coverage, in products liability, toxic tort, environmental, construction and premises liability matters. He has considerable experience in all stages of litigation in both state and federal courts throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Misty R. Martin, James L. Svajgl and Mitchell P. Morinec, all of the Chicago office of Segal McCambridge, were promoted from associate to shareholder.

Misty Martin has represented companies in general and complex litigation across the country for more than a decade. She has successfully defended client interests in state and federal courts in transportation, employment, products liability, insurance coverage, general liability, and commercial litigation.  In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Martin works with companies across the country to proactively mitigate their risk through consultations and contractual agreements.

James Svajgl devotes his litigation practice to the defense of wrongful death and catastrophic personal injury cases in both state and federal court. His practice emphasis is in toxic tort, medical malpractice and general liability defense. His representative clients include product manufacturers, premises owners and contractors facing complex multi-party litigation.

Mitchell Morinec concentrates his practice in commercial and products liability litigation with a focus on medical products. He has experience handling litigation matters in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana state courts and in federal courts across the country for a wide array of clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to local small businesses.
