Carly Everett Kennedy's diverse legal practice includes representing corporations and insurers in general liability litigation including commercial, products liability, premises liability, and other matters in state and federal courts throughout the country, including in Illinois and Indiana. In all of her work, Ms. Kennedy focuses on balancing many interests to advance her clients' strategy and defend claims efficiently and effectively. She is dedicated to helping her clients make sound business decisions and providing excellent client services.
As a member of the National Coordinating Counsel team for a Fortune 500 medical device company, Ms. Kennedy is well-versed in handling complex discovery disputes and litigation in pharmaceutical and medical device-related law. With that, Ms. Kennedy has developed an astute knowledge of federal regulations governing the healthcare industry.
In the commercial litigation arena, Ms. Kennedy resolves business disputes such as breach of contract, tax compliance, and formation of nonprofit entities. She has a background in health law and is experienced in related transactions such as drafting physicians' agreements.
Additionally, Ms. Kennedy works directly with insurance adjustors to guide them through claims litigation. She conducts extensive discovery, attends hearings, takes depositions, and manages communications with opposing counsel.
Ms. Kennedy recently completed her Master's degree in public administration. While obtaining her degree, she worked at a bipartisan public policy think tank to implement pilot programs in conjunction with legislators, commissioners, magistrates, and other decision-makers across the country. This experience in the lawmaking process provides Ms. Kennedy with a unique perspective that enhances her legal practice. Ms. Kennedy's legal studies abroad in Croatia and China have also enriched her perspective and approach in practicing law.
Ms. Kennedy is a passionate advocate for those without access to legal resources. She regularly participates in pro bono cases and community projects and serves as a guardian ad litem for minors in probate court. Ms. Kennedy is also trained to provide pro bono services to veterans seeking benefits. Additionally, Ms. Kennedy is a board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Chicago, helping to secure operating funds and provide resources for children.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Kennedy was an Honors Intern at the FBI. She was a four-year starter and the captain of the varsity soccer team at Indiana University.
