Environmental

Segal McCambridge serves as national, regional and local counsel on behalf of various primary, excess, and umbrella insurers in environmental coverage disputes and on behalf of numerous insureds in the defense of claims involving bodily injury and property damage caused by chemicals, hazardous substances and pollutants (e.g., asbestos, benzene, lead, mercury, PCBs, PCE, pesticides, TCA, TCE and silica).  We have advised clients in many cases of first impression and are regularly retained to litigate multi-site and multi-state environmental claims.  We also help our clients address the challenges presented by federal and state environmental regulation, including hazardous waste handling/disposal and corporate compliance issues.  Our attorneys are experienced and knowledgeable in the interpretation and applicability of all types of insurance coverage issues and their relationship to environmental claims.  We also have litigated a wide variety of environmental issues, including soil and water cleanup, microbials/mold/fungi, oil and gas spills, leaking underground storage tanks and sick building syndrome at the trial and appellate levels.
