Equine Law

Overview

Equine law encompasses all legal issues and claims relating to horses and to equine transactions, activities, events, businesses, organizations and facilities. A wide variety of legal issues arise from the ownership, care, boarding, training, showing and racing of horses, including claims ranging from negligence in boarding of horses to fraudulent misrepresentation in the sale or lease of horses to breach of contracts and boarding agreements. Providers of care to horses, including farriers and veterinarians, can also be subject to legal claims for the care of horses.
